Lady and the Shallot

Francesca Avitto and Kate Wnek have created one of the best plant-based, whole-foods and gluten-free cafés that we have visited, and they’ve nestled it inside a charming farmer’s market in Trenton, New Jersey.

‘Lady and the Shallot’ is an all-vegan café full of fresh, inspirational dishes. It was hard to narrow down a lunch order as everything looked amazing, so we went with a sample of all four tacos, street spuds and nachos. Every dish was packed with flavor and the freshest ingredients.

The street spuds are air-fried, so all of you on no oil diets will love them. Top them with avocado, corn, tomatoes chickpeas, the combinations are almost endless, and don’t forget their house-made aioli. The tacos came in four flavors, Rainbow, Curry, Tofu and Chipotle - don’t fret over which to choose, just get them all.
