Why This Website, Map, and Blog Posts Matter

Imagine this: You're in your car with friends, hungry for a meal that suits everyone's tastes. But the catch is, one friend is vegan, another is vegetarian, someone's lactose intolerant, and preferences range from 'anything goes' to 'no carbs’ to 'nothing fried.' Oh, and then there's that friend in the backseat who's only interested in devouring wings doused in fiery hot sauce.

If you're reading this, you've undoubtedly found yourself in this dilemma. You've experienced the frustration of scouring countless restaurant options, only to come up empty-handed when trying to find a place that accommodates everyone's unique dietary needs and preferences.

We are currently developing a mobile application for our Map at Mid Atlantic Vegan (MAV), so that you can have access to MAV even while you're on the move!

That's exactly why we're embarking on this ambitious project. The Mid Atlantic Vegan team knows exactly what it feels like to be each of those friends. We've been there, we get it. It got so bad that we resorted to spinning a carnival wheel to decide where to eat—a testament to just how real this struggle is. The existing websites and apps claiming to help you find vegan options? They're often far from accurate, and the reviews- let's just say they're sometimes pretty questionable.

Why is it that a multitude of chain restaurants dominate the search results? How can we possibly know what these places offer for vegan diners? And what about those hidden gems, those small family-run eateries that don't stand a chance against the giants?

We're here to change that. We're on a mission to discover each and every one of those hidden treasures, those restaurants that cater to plant-based diners even when they don't officially advertise it. We're committed to uncovering those genius 'vegan hacks' that turn an ordinary dish into a plant-based delight. We're not just going to keep it to ourselves—we're going to share these gems with every soul who's ever stared at a menu in despair, feeling like a square peg in a round hole.

We help restaurants develop plant-based menus using items they already have in their kitchens, allowing them to welcome vegan diners without raising food costs or adding complexity to their prep. We create content from photography to complete menu design to full branding suites, lifting local business and making them stand out in a crowded restaurant space.

In a world full of critics, we're not going to be 'that guy.' We're going to be something fresh, something different. And we wholeheartedly invite you to be a part of it.

But let's get one thing straight: We're not here to judge. We're not the kind of vegans who'll stage a protest on your lawn or shame you for your dietary choices. We're not about making anyone feel guilty for not yet embarking on a plant-based journey. Instead, we're all about lifting people up, inspiring them to explore the myriad of delectable foods that exist without relying on animal products. And we're going to make sure they have a map—a roadmap, if you will—to every corner of this region where they can savor a fantastic vegan meal.

So, whether you've got a restaurant recommendation, a new vegan trick up your sleeve, or a mouthwatering recipe to share, don't hesitate to reach out to us through our contact form. Catch our attention on Instagram and do us a favor by sharing our posts far and wide.

We are Mid-Atlantic Vegan, but believe us, that's just the beginning of our journey together.
