VegOut

Vegout’s story begins with Mary's dream to open her own 100% cruelty-free restaurant. She knew she could do something BIG with her passion for food and her love for animals and the environment.

Growing up vegetarian and transitioning to vegan over a decade ago, Mary noticed the lack of vegan options in the Lehigh Valley. She always felt like she had to compromise taste and comfort for a half-hearted salad when going out to eat. Having worked in the food service industry for over 20 years, Mary wanted a place where she could go to eat all of her favorite plant-based comfort foods and make them accessible to her community.

In December of 2018, VegOut officially opened as a pop-up restaurant inside of Roasted. While there, Mary was able to feel out her concept and focus on creating quality vegan food. A few months later, Mary teamed up with Mike Clancey of The Seitanic Butcher to start a plant-based food truck called Vegan Voyagers that does events throughout the area.

VegOut quickly outgrew the pop-up restaurant and Mary knew it was time to expand the restaurant and menu. In December of 2019, VegOut relocated to 1 East Church Street, where it is today. Her food has been regularly featured in The Morning Call and other local news outlets, with her mac and cheese winning an award at the Lehigh Valley Vegan s'Mac Down. Mary's favorite part about VegOut is seeing the smile on people's faces when they are enjoying her food and empowering her daughter to follow her dreams.

At VegOut there are accessible options for longtime vegans and the veg-curious. Mary took the vegetables people already eat, and turned them into savory comfort food that satisfies every taste bud, from burgers to milkshakes and more. VegOut's food is 100% plant-based with no animal by-products, so get that extra cookie, that mac and cheese, and feel good doing it.
